Campbeltown

Campbeltown

Campbeltown is situated on the beautiful peninsula of Kintyre and is one of the largest towns in Argyll. Located on a deep bay sheltered by Davaar Island and the surrounding hills, Campbeltown itself is home to three active distilleries; Glen Scotia, Glengyle and Springbank with guided tours available at all three.

It is home to the Campbeltown Heritage Museum, Campbeltown Picture House and a variety of restaurants, hotels and bars where you can sample delicious locally caught seafood.
It is also host to the Mull of Kintyre Music and Arts Festival each August which is popular with both visitors and locals.

Kintyre and Beyond

As part of Kintyre, Campbeltown is the first of a scenic trail of villages and towns that all benefit from a temperate climate due to the warmth of the North Atlantic drift.
This temperate climate also makes this beautiful landscape a producer of some of the most renowned seafood, cheeses, beef and lamb, making Kintyre a must for food lovers.

Leaving Kintyre behind, visitors can travel onwards to Argyll to the likes of Inveraray with its stunning fairytale castle and the bustling town of Oban, a hub for Cal Mac ferry services to many islands, including the diverse and beautiful Inner and Outer Hebrides.
